WHAT IS ABDS?
The Australian Birth Defects Society (ABDS) was formed in 1983 by a group of professionals interested in the causes and prevention of birth defects. Regular seminars are held throughout the year, with both local and overseas speakers. A regular newsletter is mailed to members and incorporates a teratogen update, reviews and opinions.
For Families
The Australian Birth Defects Society is dedicated to providing evidence-based information on medications and other exposures during pregnancy to families. Learn about birth defects, read up-to-advice and find a health professional near you.
For Professionals
Members of The Australian Birth Defects Society are scientists and health professionals with an interest in medications and other exposures during pregnancy. One of our objectives is ongoing education through journal clubs and conferences.
